Aloha Friday: Do You Kindle?
By Jen E @ mommablogsalot | May 1st, 2009 | Category: books, gadgets & electronics, memes & carnivals | 10 commentsIt’s time for another Aloha Friday, the day that you take it easy and look forward to the weekend, in Hawaii and blog land anyway. As you should know by now, over at An Island Life, Kailani decided that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting and ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life’s blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
We’re going to be reviewing the new Kindle 2 soon and we’d love to know…
- Do you own a Kindle or Kindle 2? If so…
- What is 5a8 your favorite thing about your Kindle?
- If not, would you like to own one?
- What kind of books would you most like to read on a Kindle? What types would you still want to buy in book form (if any)?
- What is the coolest thing about the Kindle? Any things you don’t like about it?
No I do not. Still reading the hard back way:-)

I would LOVE to have a Kindle 2. One of my co-workers has one…and wow! I’m so jealous. I’m a reader. I read all the time…and I have several books going at once too. Needless to say, my handbags go through the wringer because I always have one or two books in there. A Kindle would solve my problems! All of those delicous books at my fingertips…ready to read whenever I wish! Ahhhh, heaven!

Oh, I totally covet my neighbor’s Kindle 2! For now, I’m getting my fix using the Kindle app on the ipod touch. It is amazing how many FREE kindle books are available on amazon!
I would love to have one, too, but that’s not in the cards yet. Someday! I, too, have several books going at the same time, and this would be really handy…it would also be really handy to keep in my purse for those times that I have a few extra minutes! I just don’t know how long it would take me to get used to not actually holding a book in my hand and turning the pages…I look forward to your review!
I would LOVE a Kindle. I think they are one of the awesomest things ever! Just being able to down load & then read w/o going anywhere? Amazing.

I would love, love, love! a Kindle. But the price point is just so far out of my comfort zone, especially when I know that they will be upgrading every few years. Right now I’ve got my sights on the BeBook, which looks to be a good alternative. We travel a lot, and I’m a voracious reader, (three to four novels a week) so you can imagine that an e-reader is like my own personal gadget-come-true! (Now if only I could get one of those for review….lol.)

I do not own a Kindle nor do I want to. I really do love the smell, feel and look of books.

Don’t have one, way too expensive!
I don’t know if I willing to part with my actual books though. Verdict still out if I want one, they are cool though!

The kindle is on my short list to buy. I love the kindle 2 and I see this as the future of reading. Even though most people now, especially older folks do not “get” this technology, the 10-30 year olds will use this technology exclusively and will definitely be using it.
It just makes sense.
Plus think of all the trees we will save by NOT having to print all these book.
Also, This may help those going off to college by not having to buy $130 paperback books that colleges now require you to buy.
