Mommas Day Gift Idea & Giveaway – MotoNAV TN20 GPS

Category : Featured Reviews, gadgets & electronics, gifts & greeting cards

Help your Momma find her way for this Mothers Day.

Find the best way to get there with the new MOTONAV TN20. With a 3.5 inch touch screen this is one of the smaller GPS’ that are out on the market. For the newer user this is perfect. My husband loved the smallness of it and that he could fit it easily on the windshield of his Jeep and it would not be too bulky.

Motorola describes the TN20 as:

MOTONAV™ TN20 helps you find the best route with GPS accuracy. The text-to-speech feature provides turn-by-turn directions, in an easy to understand voice, including spoken street names eliminate second-guessing when making a turn. Locate a favorite restaurant, nearest bank, or see what is along your route. Save time and fuel, and leave getting lost to the past.

tn20_screen

I was lucky enough to compare the TN20 with our current GPS. Some of the features that stood out to me were the fact that you could hear the spoken street names with the standard turn by turn directions. I loved how it would give you two directions ahead of time. For example, while driving through the city it was alot of quick turning. The device would say to us “Turn left in 500, then turn right onto Shrewsbury street.” This is not something our current GPS does so it was a cool feature. Especially since it prepared us to be in the right lane in the city.

If you get hungry along the way while traveling don’t worry you can search for restaurants, gas stations, banks and more. We used this feature to find a local Subway restaurant for lunch. I didn’t feel like eating in the city so I was able to put in the next town over and search there for a good place to stop.

We noticed while driving little landmarks along the way on the GPS map. My husband and I were stumped by them so I reached over and touched the landmark on the screen. It told me what the location was and even allowed me to save it in case we want to go there in the future. This is by far one of my favorite features of the Motorola TN20.

A few more features to note:

  • Preloaded maps of Continental US
  • Automatic day/night mode adjustment
  • 2D and 3D Map perspectives
  • Zoom and move maps with your finger
  • More than one million searchable points of interest
  • No activation or monthly service fees

The Motorola MOTONAV TN20 (Retail 179.99) includes the GPS device, windshield mount, dash mount, and in-car charger. This GPS is perfect for a first time user. This is a great present for any Mommas who have a tendency to get lost, like me!

What I think I will love best about the Motorola MOTONAV T20 is that when I am taking my 3 young children on the drives in the country, and we get lost, which we always inevitably do, my best friend and guide, this amazing Motorola MOTONAV will speak to me in a voice I can understand and tell me where to drive next so we are not lost anymore! I love that it talks to you!! In the past when we have gotten lost, I have stopped for directions, thought I had heard them correctly, and then I have proceeded to get lost even more! I love finding remote country stores in the country where my kids can enjoy getting an old fashioned milkshake or some penny candy and I hate it when a dark cloud, like getting lost, hangs over our heads. Having this nifty GPS will take so much stress away so I can truly enjoy this quality time with my children! Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter.

    joanna smith says:

Another Motorola product I’d love to own is the Motorola Bluetooth Headset H690 (Etched Pearl). This is compatible with my cell phone and I have been dying for one! I then can insure that I don’t miss any phone calls because I am changing my daughters diaper, tending to one of my 3 children, or driving in heavy traffic, this would be so sweet to have!

My Momma (ME) deserves this because I adore taking my 3 children on lots of small roadtrips, just as my mother used to do with all of us kids! But, I am terrible, no beyond horrible with any sense of direction! But, that should not deter me from doing something I enjoy, right?! And, I believe the old traditional pastime of taking your kids on drives to the country to get penny candy should still be an activity pursued and enjoyed ~ modern technology can help so much more effectively though in keeping it safe and effortless!

For myself, my favorite feature is the fact that it SPEAKS street names – which is great because I tend to get stressed and easily lost/confused when trying to manually figure this kind of thing out by myself. Also, being able to use your finger to move maps would be a plus! Negotiating unfamiliar cities is NOT one of my strengths LOL

My Mom is the absolute BEST, I know people say that about their Mom all of the time, but my Mom really is. She’s known for her great company, her edible delights, and her never-ending generosity to others. She raised seven children practically by herself as my Dad was always working away from home. She always participated in our school events, whether it meant baking cookies for a school fund-raiser or a gourmet dinner so we could impress one of our friends or business associates. My Mom has literally given someone the shirt (or coat) right off her back to someone in need and instilled in us the grace of giving to others in need. However, my sweet Mom has no sense of direction and new tech gadgets frazzle her a bit. I think the Motorola Motona TN20 GPS system would be perfect for her because of the audible directions. My Mom would freak if she had to take her eyes off the road for any reason. And, she wouldn’t have to get upset getting lost any more :)

I love that it has Lane guidance to show you which lane to use. I hate being on these multiple lane roads when I need to exit to get on a highway. They NEVER give you enough warning about which way you’re going to have to turn, and they put the arrows (and highway direction) on the bottom of the signs so they’re hard to see with all the traffic.

My mom would love this! We go on adventures with my three year old daughter and this would help us to find our destinations a bit safer, easier, and faster. Right now we use a map service on the internet and it has been wrong a few times. It would make me feel better to know that my mom would be safer with a GPS, no matter where she ended up, she could have it show her how to get home.

Thanks for this giveaway. A GPS is something that might not fit in our budget for awhile and I would love to be able to give one to my mom.

My mother is one of the strongest most determined individuals I have ever known. She has faced a lot of obstacles and challenges with a long history of health problems and she has just been amazing throughout all of it over the years. She always says, “You do what ya gotta do.” She has been determined to keep working even when it’ has been very difficult. Everyone thinks she is an amazing woman. There’s so much more to why my mom deserves this, but here is the “short”" version. Winning this for her would be great. She’s been wanting one for so long now. I’d love to be able to give it to her.

I will definitely like the spoken street name feature. I used my sister’s gps once and it would say turn left (no street name) and sometimes it would be difficult to look at the unit to see what street you actually wanted to turn left on. There was a couple times that I turned onto the wrong street…then the gps unit seemed to get very mad and told me to turn all kinds of directions to get back to where I came from….lol. This would take the guessing out of where to turn. Thanks for the chance to win!

She is also very sweet and would do anything for anyone as long as she is able. Whenever she wants to go shopping somewhere out of a 30 mile radius, she calls me (I am the shopping driver). My mom gets turned around very easily in bigger towns. Maybe she would be able to drive for once (not that I mind driving, I just think it would be good for her).

I think what’ll I’ll like most about the MOTONAV is the lane assistance it provides – when I’m driving in an unfamiliar city or town, I’m always nervous about which lane to be in for upcoming turns, and this device is pre-programmed for guide the driver about which lane to be in at any given time. Coupled with the ability to guide the driver to points of interest, such as restaurants and banks, this GPS would really take most of the stress and anxiety out of road trips and allow the driver and passengers to focus on having fun. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

My momma’s an amazing woman – she temporarily put her dreams of being a nurse on hold to be a stay-at-home mom for my older sister and me, and she was always very involved in our lives growing up. Then, after my sister and I both turned 18, she went back to nursing school, got her degree, and now has devoted her life to taking care of the patients and newborns at the maternity ward where she works. She’s displayed the same qualities of grace, strength, humor, and unconditional love in her work that she’s always showed to her family. Now that I’m living in a city two hundred miles from mom, she doesn’t visit as often as she or I would like, and one major obstacle is her fear of driving. I think she’d get great use out of the GPS, because it would minimize a lot of her fears of highway and inner-city driving, and I’d love to surprise her with one. Thanks for the chance to win!
