Epson Perfection V30 Review

Category : Featured Reviews, gadgets & electronics

Do you have a box full of pictures like I do? We have a box chock full of photos from my childhood that just sit and do nothing. It’s sad that those memories in a digital age just sit rather than being used and shared with others. I was provided with a resolution for the 100s of photographs with the Epson Perfection V30. The value-priced scanner is easy to use and provides outstanding quality.

I chose a few photo’s to scan to start off with, photo’s from my childhood that I wanted to post on my social networking sites. They provide such great memories that I often forget about. I placed the photo in the scanner and with one touch was able to scan the picture onto my computer. It has no warm up time due to an innovative LED light source.   The clarity was outstanding on the photos. On one picture it was very dark in printed format, so during the scanning process I used the one-touch color restoration and the coloring became brighter and easier to see.

Some other features of the Epson Perfection V30:

  • 4800 x 9600 dpi optical resolution
  • Fully automatic scanning
  • One-touch photo restoration
  • One-touch scanning — send e-mails, create PDFs
  • High-rise, 180-degree lid for 3D objects
  • ReadyScan™ LED — no warmup time, fast scans
  • Earth-friendly LED — no mercury, lower power use
  • Photo editing and creative software included
  • Sharp text scans, even on colored paper

You can also scan 3D objects on the scanner. I did not try this feature, but from what I’ve seen of the photo clarity I bet it would work wonderfully. This scanner is great for someone looking to update their digital albums or for professional photographers looking to create digital art.  At $79.99 the price is right for someone who will be using this frequently and wants ideal quality in their scans.

This sounds like a wonderful scanner. I love the way you were able to lighten up that photo – pretty neat! Why doesn’t it surprise me that you have a bucket on your head?

I’m glad you told me about this – this would make an excellent Christmas present – and the price is definitely right!
