Wishlist Wednesday: Home for the Holidays

Category : Featured Reviews

Christmas is now only 4 weeks away, and it’s coming up quickly. This year my Christmas will be much different than the past five years because we will be sharing the morning with my parents and my sister. In the past we would celebrate the morning alone as just our family then drive from in-laws to in-laws homes to share the day with them. I’m excited that my parents will be able to see that spark and magic in my daughters eyes when they awake in the morning and see what Santa has brought them.

Santa is working pretty hard this time of year so here is the our family’s Christmas Wish List based off of that idea – things I’d love to review for this blog and that I’d love for myself and my family to find under our tree this year:

The Husband who loves Outdoors

Marc has been begging me lately about getting a GPS that he can use when out in the woods or riding on his four wheeler. I’ve been eyeing the Magellan Triton Series handheld GPS for him. Not only it is a GPS but it also has a built in camera so he can capture his adventures with it. He is a man that frequently drops and breaks things so another option for him is a new cell phone such as the Motorola Tundra. The Tundra is a durable phone, if you search for it on YouTube people throw it and chuck it and it magically doesn’t break.

The Almost 8 Year Old Girl

Cayleigh has been saying for six months now that the only thing she wants for Christmas is a Nintendo DS or DSi. The hand held gaming system by Nintendo is a major choice for many childrens Christmas lists this year. She then asked for DS games such as iCarly or Alvin and the Chipmunks. Lately Cay has been spending her computer time on Kidzbop.com She has been playing the sample songs and singing along. She mentioned that she wants Kidz Bop 16, the newest of the collection. Also for her letter to Santa she asked for Bakugans, I believe she got this want from other kids having them. We shall see if Santa brings those! Lastly she asked for an MP3 Player with headphones, I have been investigating the best option for her. I have finally settled on the Element 2GB Stick MP3 Player which will be on sale at Kmart on Black Friday for $9.99.

The 3 Year Old Girl

I sat down with Gabrielle the other night and asked her what she wanted from Santa. I expected she wouldn’t have any answers. Boy was I wrong! She declared she wanted a bike – and that it must be pink. Just like the 16 inch Barbie Bike at Walmart. I love that the bundle comes with safety gear which she declared she had to have all new of too. She then asked for Dora Tissues, which stumped me. Though with a google search I found this adorable tissue box cover that is a Dora Sofa. Also on Gabs list is 2 Dora Sippy Cups, not one but two. I think that Munchkin Inc. Dora the Explorer Big Kid Insulated Straw Cups would make her extremely happy. Lastly she wants a horn for her bike, such as Bell Sports Inc horns.

What I’d Love

A new laptop bag, since I currently don’t have one. Perhaps one like this beauty from Kolobags.com, where 10% of the sales go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

With money being tight this Christmas that is all I am asking for, a bag to carry my laptop in. If we were not tight on funds my dreams are big and they are in this order:

1) A new house
2) A new car
3) My wedding ring fixed

So that is what my Wishlist is for this Wednesday, what are some things you have on your wishlist? Are there some things you want but know you can’t have like me?

    Diane says:

How absolutely wonderful that your parents will spend Christmas morning with their grandchildren and their daughters and son-in-law ( I believe they nicknamed him Clark Griswald(sp?) , you know, from the classic “Christmas Vacation”, oh how he loves those outside lights and the spirit of Christmas)!

For you see, I am that LUCKY Grammy, and can only tell you that I am probably more excited about this coming Christmas then many in my past, for I will get to see the magic you describe in my grandchildren’e eyes. There is simply nothing like it. For you young mothers, revel in every moment, every look, every remark for these years pass so quickly. My daughters are intelligent, warm, loving women now with families of their own. These wonderful young women are the little girls that I saw with the magical looks on Christmas morning and I will cherish that, forever.

Oh, and by the way, where can you purchase the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation laptop bag, because, you see, even Grammy’s want to see the magic in their little girls eyes when Santa brings them what they asked for, I’m sure this little girl was a “good girl” and deserves all she asks for.

    Merry Christmas!
