Shopping for Christmas presents for your babies is hard. Those tiny little people just don’t want for a lot and to be honest, when I’m shopping for my infant daughter I’m still mostly shopping for myself. What do I want to interact with her with? Well, what I want for my little girl are simple toys that can either foster her imagination or her desire to chew on things. If it can be moderately eco friendly and cute, too, then it gets bonus points.

I recently got this adorable wooden rattle to review from an online boutique called Nico and Zoe that baby girl and I are just in love with. It was made by a company called Mossy Creek Woodworks in Arkansas and made from cherry and birch wood. According to the product information, “Mossy Creek uses local hardwoods, which are dried in an energy-conserving solar kiln and left unpainted and unstained to preserve natural color.” It also makes it pretty safe for your child to put in his or her mouth – which, trust me, they will.

I love the smooth finish of this classic wooden toy and the heart shaped handle makes the whole package look so sweet. My daughter loves to suck on the round knob ends, just like the information on their website said she would and my three year old loves to make the knobs clack back and forth for his little sister when she gets fussy. For $13 I think it would make an excellent stocking stuffer for the little one in your life this holiday season.
